In Amsterdam, after a positive CIZ opinion for Intensive Care (IZ), as a resident you can opt for a Personal Budget (PGB) within the Wmo or Wlz. The Municipality of Amsterdam handles applications via the Wmo desk or Wlz contact point. The PGB amount runs up to approximately €1,300 net per month for self-filled care, such as babysitting, therapy or guidance by local Amsterdam care providers. Prepare a detailed care plan, enter into a budget holder agreement and apply for drawing rights with the SVB. Advantages in the Amsterdam context: maximum flexibility in care choice, fitting the vibrant city with diverse care initiatives; disadvantages: heavy administrative burdens and strict control on spending by the municipality. Rejection looms with an insufficiently elaborated plan or mismatch with Amsterdam's care policy. Annual accountability is mandatory, including receipts and reporting to the Amsterdam neighbourhood teams. In case of misuse, repayment follows plus possible sanctions via municipal enforcement. The Wmo art. 41 regulates PGB as an alternative to care in kind, with extra attention for Amsterdam pilots such as integrated care in the Jordaan or Oost. Consult an Amsterdam lawyer for advice on disputes regarding your PGB history or local procedures.
